The Stollen snowshoe trail leads from the Klewenalp mountain station past the Klewen chapel, through the idyllic forest landscape up to the Stollen viewing point and back down to Klewenalp.

Experience the fascination of snowshoeing in the beautiful winter wonderland on Klewenalp, high above Lake Lucerne.

This varied snowshoe hike takes you from the Klewenalp mountain station past the Klewen chapel. After a short crossing of the Ergglen ski slope, you reach the idyllic forest landscape. Many forest clearings offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains of Central Switzerland and the deep blue waters of Lake Lucerne.

The covered year-round Ergglen fireplace or the PanoramaBar, Klewenstock, Alpstubli and KlewenStube 1600 mountain restaurants invite you to take a leisurely break on the way back to the Klewenalp mountain station (opening times at www.klewenalp.ch).

Take the highway A2 Luzern-Gotthard, exit Buochs/Beckenried and follow the signs to the valley station of the cable car Beckenried-Klewenalp
Paid parking spaces are available in Beckenried at the valley station of the Beckenried-Klewenalp cable car. 
By post bus: from Stans, railroad station to Beckenried, post office
By boat: from Lucerne or Brunnen to Beckenried

  • The snowshoe trail is marked along the entire route
  • The Stollen viewpoint, which is accessible in summer, is not part of the route due to the steep, sloping terrain. Hike at your own risk!
  • Inform yourself early and independently about the current snow and avalanche conditions

  • Allow enough time, rest regularly.
  • Do not take any unnecessary risks and always monitor the weather
  • Always stay on the marked route, avoid shortcuts
  • Avoid forest edges, afforestation and small young growth
  • Avoid game wherever possible
  • Observe animals from an appropriate distance
  • If possible, leave dogs at home or keep them on a lead
  • Only take reminders with you and only leave your tracks!
